По оперативным данным объем внешней торговли товарами государств – членов Таможенного союза за январь-июнь 2012 г. составил 459,6 млрд. долларов США, в том числе экспорт – 302,9 млрд. долларов США, импорт – 156,7 млрд. долларов США. Стоимостной объем экспорта по сравнению с январем-июнем 2011 г. в текущих ценах увеличился на 9,7%, или на 26,9 млрд. долларов США, импорта – на 4,8%, или на 7,2 млрд. долларов США.

The first meeting of the Expert Committee for Medicinal Products at the Eurasian Economic Commission, chaired by Viktor Nazarenko, EEC Minister in charge of Technical Regulation, has considered mechanisms for resolving disputes arising during the registration of pharmaceuticals. Discrepancies in the benefit-risk assessment in expert reports of the reference State and the recognizing States for two master files have been discussed.

On 26 June this year the Eurasian Economic Union countries ended the transition period for enacting amendments made to the Union's Technical Regulation "Marking of food products" concerning GMO marking of food products manufactured using genetically modified organisms. The amendments were adopted by the Decision of the Commission’s Council No. 90 dated December 20, 2017 and came into force on December 26, 2018.

An urgent need has emerged to coordinate the participation of the Eurasian Economic Union countries in interstate standardization and establishing clear-cut rules for forming a modern framework of standards, primarily to meet common mandatory requirements to products. This is required to increase the competitiveness of goods and the industry’s export potential. This was stated by Viktor Nazarenko, EEC Minister in charge of Technical Regulation, during the 5th meeting of the Council of Heads of national standardization bodies of the EAEU States held at the Eurasian Economic Commission’s headquarters.

The Council of Heads of authorized bodies in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population of the EAEU Member States, jointly with the Eurasian Economic Commission has prepared a draft Comprehensive plan of short-term and long-term activities in the sphere of sanitary and epidemiological welfare and health aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus and other infectious diseases, capacity building of public health services, sanitary and epidemiological supervision, coordinated development of effective diagnostic tools and COVID-19 vaccinal prevention.
