On January 28-29, Samat Aliev, Deputy Director of the Department for Entrepreneurship of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), took part in a regional practical seminar Regulation of Economic Migration: Mechanisms and Practices of Engagement, Selection and Admittance of Foreign Labour, held in Moscow. The seminar was organized by the Bureau of the International Organization for Migration in Moscow (IOM Moscow) and the Institute of Demography of the Higher School of Economics, National Research University.

The seminar was attended by delegates from government authorities of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republic of Tajikistan, delegates from the Eurasian Economic Commission, the International Organization for Migration, as well as Russian and international experts from the United States, Germany and Italy.

The main purpose of the seminar was continuing the regional dialogue to develop practical mechanisms of cooperation in the field of regulation of migration processes.

In the context of the seminar, S. Aliev had a working meeting with IOM Moscow Chief of Mission Zlatko Zigic. During the meeting, they discussed issues connected with the forthcoming signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between EEC and IOM, as well as with establishing practical cooperation between the parties.
