Sergey Sidorskiy: “Common information resources will improve the interaction of the EAEU countries in agroindustrial sector”

2/1/2017

As part of the establishment of the integrated information system of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) adopted the requirements for one of its components combining the databases of the agroindustrial complex of the Union countries.

Seven common Internet resources are planned to be established, including the unified register of grades of agricultural plants, estimated figures of development, the database of breeding animals and breeding advances in livestock breeding and research activities.

Development and filling of national blocks of the common information system of the agroindustrial complex will be implemented by the Union countries in accordance with the agreed data formats.

The Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex of the EEC Sergey Sidorskiy emphasised that “automated collection, processing and storage of information in the context of the common information resources of the agroindustrial complex would enable optimising the interaction of the Parties on the agreed agroindustrial policy. In on-line mode, all users would be able to analyze the state of the agri-food market in the five countries, to assess the situation to ensure food security, as well as development of scientific potential in the agroindustrial sector of our countries.”

As Sergey Sidorskiy stated, the EEC would coordinate filling of information networks and ensure implementation of analytical functions of the system.

Over time, the list of common information resources in the agroindustrial sector can be expanded - the adopted document provides for such an opportunity.
