Telephone conversation between Mikhail Myasnikovich and Sergei Rumas

On February 1, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Sergei Rumas, Chairman of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, held a telephone conversation at the initiative of the Belarusian side.

Sergei Rumas congratulated Mikhail Myasnikovich on taking office, after which the sides discussed the outcomes of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held on January 31 in Almaty. Sergei Rumas and Mikhail Myasnikovich exchanged opinions on the first priority steps to implement the decisions adopted. In particular, they discussed the Strategic Directions for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, being elaborated by the EEC jointly with the Union countries.

Special priority was given to approaches on eliminating current barriers, exemptions and restrictions in the EAEU market.

Belarus is going to chair the Eurasian Economic Union's governing bodies in 2020.
