The representatives of the Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation of the EEC and Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic had consultative meetings

In Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic), within the frames of ongoing procedure on Kyrgyzstan accession to the Customs Union, the expert consultative meetings on technical regulation took place. The delegation of the Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) headed by Director of the Department Vasily Boitsov took part in the meetings.

Among the participants of the consultations there also were representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Center of Standardization and Metrology at the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Bishkek Center of Tests and Certification at the Kyrgyz Center of Accreditation, and also representatives of certification authorities and testing laboratories. 

In the course of the consultations V. Boitsov noted: “Accession to the contractual base of the Customs Union in the sphere of technical regulations is an important part of our work, speaking of integration. In the long view cancelling of technical barriers in trade will provide for growth of the goods turnover between the Customs Union and Kyrgyzstan.”

The representatives of the Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation of the EEC answered the questions of the Kyrgyz Party on the procedure of entering the contractual base of the Customs Union within the technical regulation sphere, application of technical specifications of the CU in the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space member-states, etc. They discussed a number of suggestions on inclusion into the Mapping project of specific activities, related to the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the contractual base of the Customs Union. The implementation of those activities was planned for the possible nearest period. 

Apart from that, the representatives of the EEC Department had a look at the certification authorities and testing laboratories work, including the Center of Microbiology and Molecular Genetic Testing of the Department of Disease Prevention and Expertise of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Testing Laboratory for the Consumer Goods, Containers and Packages, the Testing Laboratory for Machine-Building Complex Products and Furniture, etc.

Following the results of expert consultations the participants also planned the information activities for the business community of the Kyrgyz Republic on application of the technical specifications of the CU.
