EEC Minister Karine Minasyan: "The digital technology in transport should be developed under a decentralized scenario with maximum equal integration of multiple entities and digital platforms"

Karine Minasyan, Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), presented the essential idea and approaches to creating an ecosystem of digital transport corridors of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) at the panel session "Common Eurasian transport and logistics system as a foundation of transit potential" within the International Forum "Transit potential of the Eurasian continent" launched in Yerevan.

 

"The digital technology in transport should be developed under a decentralized scenario with maximum equal integration of multiple entities and digital platforms, – the EEC Minister stressed. – The role and regulation of States is sufficient and required in developing common standards of information exchange, determining the requirements for ecosystem participants and ensuring live competition between them within these requirements".

The key topics of discussion at the panel session were digitalization of transport and logistics as well as use of end-to-end digital technologies in transport and logistics supply chains as a key factor in increasing the EAEU transit opportunities.

The panel session was also attended by: Hakob Arshakyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Viktor Nazarenko, EEC Minister in charge of Technical Regulation, Arsen Ghazaryan, President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia, Nikolay Borovoy, Chairman of the Association of International Road Carriers "BAMAP", Aleksey Grom, CEO and Chairman of the Board of "United Transport and Logistics Company - Eurasian Railway Alliance", JSC, and Alexander Kochukov, CEO of "Digital Logistics", LLC.

The discussion participants expressed their interest in realizing joint Eurasian digital projects in the transport sector, told about challenges at the EAEU level, emphasized the importance of digital transformation in the transport-logistics complex not only as the main tool to improve efficiency, but also as a mechanism for removing the existing obstacles, barriers and restrictions.​
