On March 3, the EEC Board considered a mechanism for establishing repeated exemptions from national treatment for state (municipal) procurement.

Earlier, this issue was discussed at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, but the sides still have disagreements.

According to Serik Zhumangarin, EEC Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation, the mechanism has already been developed. In particular, it contemplates that a State shall notify the other Union countries and the Commission of its intent to establish a repeated exemption. If the States have objections, the issue shall be put before the EEC Board. The sides should decide whether the Board would make a decision by consensus or by a majority vote.

After finalizing the document, it is planned to be submitted to the meeting of the EEC Council.
