Kyrgyzstan ready to develop fruitful cooperation with EAEU countries: outcomes of Mikhail Myasnikovich's visit to Bishkek


On February 4, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board, paid a visit to Bishkek, where he met with the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, and Sooronbay Jeenbekov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, discussed the prospects for developing integration processes in the Eurasian space.

Mikhail Myasnikovich spoke about the Commission's priority tasks to consistently remove barriers, exemptions, and restrictions, as well as new approaches to this work. Besides, he noted the third countries' growing interest in the EAEU and assured that he would be guided in his activities by the interests of all Union States.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated Mikhail Myasnikovich on taking office as Chairman of the EEC Board and wished him success in implementing his plans. He also expressed confidence that the Commission headed by Mikhail Myasnikovich would significantly contribute to further deepening of Eurasian integration.

The Head of State declared his readiness to develop prolific and fruitful cooperation with the Union countries.

The meeting with Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev was focused on preparing the document that would define the strategic directions for developing the Eurasian economic integration until 2025 as well as on removing the existing barriers. In addition, Mikhail Myasnikovich and Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev touched upon the issue of strengthening the EEC's supranational competence.

The Head of Government wished Mikhail Myasnikovich to make a success of his new position and expressed confidence that his professional and personal qualities would ensure the efficient arrangement of the Commission's work and create all the necessary conditions for consistently performing the tasks aimed at an intense development of the integration process.

During the meeting between Mikhail Myasnikovich and Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh, the two sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation within the EAEU and removing barriers that hinder the economic integration.

The Chairman of the EEC Board emphasized that the economy could not develop as there is no strong legislative support; therefore, we should build up active inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Union countries.

Dastanbek Dzhumabekov noted that Kyrgyzstan put a priority on continuing a successful cooperation within the EAEU. Speaking about the existing barriers, Dastanbek Dzhumabekov drew attention to the problems arising at checkpoints.

He also congratulated Mikhail Myasnikovich on his appointment as Chairman of the EEC Board and wished him every success.

The leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic supported the initiatives put forward by the Chairman of the EEC Board.​
