EEC starts new stage of cooperation with European Commission

This was stated by Artak Kamalyan, Member of the Board – EEC Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture, in Moscow at the conference “EAEU and EU – Outlook for 2020" organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

“When interacting with the EEC, we will place emphasis on supporting the dialogue between business associations and companies of the EAEU and the EU. - Artak Kamalyan noted. – The interest of the European business circles in strengthening economic ties between our Unions is becoming more and more obvious".

According to the EEC Minister, this approach is in the best interest of both sides and corresponds to the Memorandum on Common Economic Space from Lisbon to Vladivostok signed in 2017 on the initiative of the European and Eurasian business circles. "The European Union needs a single Eurasian market, and the Eurasian Economic Union needs interaction with Europe. In the economic sense, the idea of a continental economic space is absolutely reasonable and justified”, - the EEC Minister stressed.

The event was attended by Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the Board at the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ulf Schneider, CEO of Schneider Group, and representatives of major European businesses such as Bosch, Confindustria, AHLERS, Julius Meinl and others.
