EEC and Israel agreed to intensify cooperation

Artak Kamalyan, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture, and delegation members of the Embassy of the State of Israel headed by Yacov Livne, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of Israel in Russia, discussed sectoral cooperation development in the industry and agricultural sector of the Eurasian Economic Union and the State of Israel at the EEC’s headquarters.

Yacov Livne has informed that the Israeli side is ready to increase imports of beef and eggs from the EAEU countries in the near future.

The Commission plans to examine this issue together with interested manufacturers as well as to intensify cooperation with the Israeli colleagues on introducing new technologies in the agricultural sector.

"Israel is among three world leaders in using new agricultural technologies, so this experience may be of the main interest to the Union," Artak Kamalyan stated.

The meeting attendees have agreed to study some prospects for creating a consortium for technological development of the industry and agricultural sector, where representatives of academia, business entities and executive authorities will be invited.
