Aleksey Sushkevich appointed Director of EEC Department for Antitrust Regulation

Aleksey Gennadievich Sushkevich was born on July 4, 1966. In 1988, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 1992, he passed Ph.D. defense on technological exchange between the USA and the European Economic Community at the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences and was awarded Ph.D. in Economics.

 

From 1993 to 2004, he worked in scientific and non-governmental organisations and managed an insurance company. In 2004, he joined the public service.

 

Since May 2016, Aleksey Sushkevich has headed the Department for Antirust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. On June 15, 2020, the employment contract was extended for another 4 years.

 

He was awarded certificates of honor of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, the Eurasian Economic Commission as well as gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation. He has the titles of "Honorable Employee of Antitrust Authorities of the Russian Federation" and "Honored Economist of the Russian Federation".

 

He is married and has three children.
