The advantages of the Eurasian Economic Union's single market for the European businesses were at the focus of discussion at the "Austria Connect CIS 2020" conference held on September 17 at the venue of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Austria and the Embassy of the Republic of Austria to Russia.

The Eurasian Economic Commission was represented at the conference by Goar Barsegyan, Director of Integration Development Department. She has told about the main indicators of the EAEU development and international cooperation, dwelt at length on the Union’s success and highlighted new areas of the integration agenda.

"In late 2019, the Heads of the EAEU States approved the Declaration on Further Development of Integration Processes and in May this year, they approved for the most part the draft Strategy for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, which is still being elaborated. These documents are aimed at defining key vectors of the EAEU development, specifying the existing ones and sometimes identifying new tasks," Goar Barsegyan stressed.

SCHNEIDER Group CEO Ulf Schneider has announced the European business' stance on the Eurasian integration project. He has urged to promptly formalize EAEU-EU relations at the level of supranational authorities - the Eurasian Economic Commission and the European Commission as well as called upon for building up full-fledged economic relations without reference to the political context.

Stanislav Naumov, Head of the Secretariat of the EAEU Business Council, has also noted the importance of establishing a full-scale dialogue and called upon for taking into account the business community's opinion in this matter. Along with that, according to Stanislav Naumov, the business community has not and cannot have any political ambitions.

Vardan Toganyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Russia, concluded the panel discussion talking about the advantages Armenia received from joining the Union.
