EEC Board notified Armenia of the need to comply with free movement of goods in EAEU

3/10/2020

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has notified the Republic of Armenia of the need to cancel permits and duties on goods exported to the EAEU States (wood products, ores, ferrous waste and scrap and non-ferrous waste and scrap). They were established by the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On state duty" in 2012.

According to Article 28 of the Treaty on the Union, within the functioning of the internal market, the Union Member States shall not apply export customs duties and non-tariff regulatory measures in mutual trade.

"Ensuring the fundamental principles of the internal market’s functioning is one of the priorities of the Eurasian Economic Commission's activities. Each obstacle in the internal market is subject to a comprehensive study and case-by-case consideration at the Board’s meetings,” noted Gegham Vardanyan, EEC Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies.
