По оперативным данным объем внешней торговли товарами государств – членов Таможенного союза за январь-июнь 2012 г. составил 459,6 млрд. долларов США, в том числе экспорт – 302,9 млрд. долларов США, импорт – 156,7 млрд. долларов США. Стоимостной объем экспорта по сравнению с январем-июнем 2011 г. в текущих ценах увеличился на 9,7%, или на 26,9 млрд. долларов США, импорта – на 4,8%, или на 7,2 млрд. долларов США.

On April 10, Members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council adopted a package of measures to be taken in the Eurasian Economic Union to ensure the vital needs of the population, maintain mutual trade and free movement of goods in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and create conditions for subsequent economic growth. According to the Chairman of the EEC Board Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Commission has restructured its activities and focused its efforts on solving daily acute problems. The set of measures was developed jointly with the Member States' governments.

On April 7, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission reviewed and approved a draft decision of the EEC Council, which provides for a 5% to 0% reduction of the rates of import customs duties of the Common Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union for benzyl alcohol, vanillin (4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde) and ethylvaniline (3-ethoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde) used in the production of food flavorings. The reduced rates will be in effect for a period of two years.
