Alexander Subbotin, Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting at the EEC headquarters with Budimir Plavšić, Head of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) Regional Representation for Europe.

Alexander Subbotin emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding between the EEC and the WOAH, under which the parties have been engaged in fruitful cooperation for 12 years.

The two sides discussed the progress of the Action Plan for implementing the Memorandum for 2025–2027, highlighted the success of a number of events organized for the authorized bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union countries, and considered prospects for joint activities.

Budimir Plavšić placed the emphasis on the plans of the WOAH Representation for Europe and the importance of involving the Commission’s employees in a number of key official events, including the General Session of the WOAH World Assembly of Delegates and the conferences of the WOAH Regional Commissions. He also informed about the 32nd Conference of the Regional Commission for Europe, scheduled for September this year, which will address, in particular, biosafety issues related to transboundary animal diseases.

Following the meeting, the two sides expressed confidence that the friendly atmosphere and joint efforts would make their further cooperation even more efficient.
