Andrey Slepnev discussed implementation of Free Trade Agreement with Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Seyed Mohammad Atabak

On the sidelines of the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana, a bilateral meeting was held between Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade of Iran.
The parties discussed the current status of the implementation of the three-year Roadmap for Trade and Economic Cooperation signed last September, as well as preparations for the second meeting of the Joint Committee, scheduled to be held in Iran this year. We agreed to intensify the activities of cooperation bodies to enhance work in all areas.“Exactly one year ago – in May of last year – a full-fledged Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran came into force. Statistics for the first nine months of its operation confirm the high mutual interest of our countries' businesses in working with each other and demonstrate a 14% increase in trade,” the EEC Minister noted.
