Artak Kamalyan and Yerbol Karashukeev discussed development prospects for cooperation in Union's agricultural sector

Artak Kamalyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Yerbol Karashukeev, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting devoted to the development prospects for integration in the agricultural sector of the Eurasian Economic Union.

In Nur-Sultan, the parties discussed the progress of Kazakhstan's domestic procedures for signing this year the Agreement on the Rules of Release (Issue), Circulation and Redemption Within the Eurasian Economic Union of Warehouse Certificates for Agricultural Products.

"The adoption of this document is of particular relevance today since it promotes electronic commerce within the Union based on mutual recognition of non-documentary warehouse certificates for agricultural products and increases the availability of loans secured by a warehouse certificate for agricultural producers. In the future, such infrastructure can also be used in trade with third-country entities," Artak Kamalyan noted.

Meeting participants discussed indicative (forecast) trade indicators for certain types of agricultural products in 2022.

The ministers considered the draft agenda for the upcoming meeting of the EAEU Agricultural Policy Council, and discussed a number of issues related to forming a common market for organic agricultural products in the Eurasian Economic Union.
