On March 26, a meeting of the scientific and expert council on energy issues was held at the Eurasian Economic Commission's headquarters in Moscow under the chairmanship of Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure.
During the event, representatives of relevant ministries, scientific and expert organizations discussed the prospects for the development of the EAEU common gas market, taking into account changes in global energy markets, as well as market mechanisms for gas trading in the EAEU common gas market, including the organization of stock trading.
"In recent years, the energy industry has faced significant challenges and shocks, global in nature. Taking into account these changes and in the interests of sustainable development of the Eurasian Economic Union, we should outline further steps and prospects for developing the common gas market with a timeline up to 2030," Arzybek Kozhoshev noted.
According to the members of the Scientific and Expert Council, among the promising areas of the EAEU common gas market are the development of infrastructure, exchange mechanisms, the gas fuel market and implementation of joint projects in the field of gas chemistry and low-carbon agenda.
"Today, in difficult economic conditions, it is important to join the efforts of the EAEU Member States to use the advantages of Eurasian integration efficiently," Arzybek Kozhoshev emphasized.
