Bakytzhan Sagintayev participated in meeting of SCO Heads of Government Council

Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board, took part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization States held on November 18 in Moscow.


The Heads of Governments and international organizations considered priority issues of strengthening interaction in various areas, including trade, economic and investment ones.

In particular, they discussed measures to implement the SCO Development Strategy until 2035.

The consultation participants paid special attention to cooperation in the field of digitalization and artificial intelligence, energy, green economy, innovation, and tourism.

The meeting outcomes have been reflected in a joint communiqué. Besides, the SCO States' consolidated position in defense of a fair multilateral trading system has been recorded.

   

The SCO unites ten Member States: Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Representatives of Dialogue Partner and Observer States, concerned countries, executive bodies of a number of international organizations and associations have also been invited to the meeting in Moscow.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the EEC and the SCO Secretariat had been signed in 2021.
