On April 8, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation Alba Azucena Torres Mejía at the EEC headquarters in Moscow.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the results and prospects of cooperation between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and Nicaragua within the framework of the Memorandum of Interaction between the EEC and the Government of Nicaragua."The signing of the Memorandum in 2024 allowed us to elevate our dialogue to a systemic level," emphasized Bakytzhan Sagintayev. "During the first meeting of the joint working group on interaction between the Commission and the Government of Nicaragua, a decision was made to develop a joint plan of action until 2029."
The implementation of the document will allow for the development of relations between the Commission and the authorized state bodies of Nicaragua, as well as facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between business circles.
Moreover, the Commission plans to cooperate with Nicaragua in a multilateral format, i.e. through integration associations.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their mutual readiness to continue systematic work to strengthen their partnership."We count on your support in intensifying dialogue with SELA and SIECA, including organizing joint seminars aimed at exchanging experience in the area of integration cooperation," noted Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
