Positive business activity trend continues in EAEU countries

According to the updated calculation of matching and leading indicators, economic activity dynamics remain positive in all countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The economies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation are in the upturn phase, while the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus are in the slowdown phase.

The Commission estimates that in March the current trends will continue in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Russia's economy will pass the peak of business activity, after which it will move to a gradual slowdown; for Armenia, a further slowdown is expected.

The leading indicators are a forecasting tool used by the Commission to comprehend the direction of short-term business activity dynamics in the Eurasian Five countries. They accumulate the most important information about short-term processes unveiling the behavior of economic agents, as well as the main trends in the economy.
