EAEU extends zero import duty on waste and scrap titanium until the end of February 2026
26.03.2024

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission made a decision to set the import duty for waste and scrap titanium (code 8108 30 000 0 in the CN FEA of the EAEU) at 0% from April 1, 2024 to February 28, 2026.

The said goods are used as secondary raw materials in manufacturing titanium products intended mainly for the aerospace industry. Other applications include energy, shipbuilding and medicine.

The use of waste and scrap titanium by metallurgical enterprises of the Eurasian Economic Union significantly reduces the costs and speeds up manufacturing of titanium semi-finished products, and also makes it possible to increase the output of finished products," said Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister in charge of Trade. "Companies of our countries use both waste from their own production and imported raw materials from third countries".

For reference

The rate of CCT EAEU import customs duty for waste and scrap titanium is 5% of the customs value. A zero rate was applied in respect of the said goods in 2015–2016 and from 2021 to March 31, 2024.
