EEC and Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly proceed to strategic partnership

On February 11, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took part in an extended meeting of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

Delivering welcoming remarks to the event attendees, Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that the Assembly succeeded as an authoritative and in-demand expert platform for dialogue between the public, representatives of science, business community and public authorities.

"You implement interesting and nonconventional projects in the field of social and humanitarian cooperation and human capital development, which also corresponds to the long-term goals of our Union enshrined in the Strategy-2025. The Assembly has genuinely fulfilled. I believe that the Commission and the Assembly should continue with a new systematic stage of interaction. I propose to address specific measures and projects of our cooperation for the new two-year period 2022-2023 in the near future", the Chairman of the EEC Board stated.
Furthermore, Mikhail Myasnikovich called upon representatives of the Assembly to be more actively engaged in the work of the Scientific and Technical Council under the Chairman of the EEC Board, invited colleagues to participate in one of the thematic platforms of the Eurasian Economic Forum in May 2022 and paid attention to the need to improve information support for the Union’s functioning.

"Existing and promising mechanisms of investment and innovation activities should be strengthened by public support aimed at mutually beneficial and complementary development. We all need to create a stable atmosphere of social loyalty of the Eurasian Economic Union nations to integration and decisions on cooperation. I am confident that the joint work of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly will help in solving this relevant objective and will contribute to strengthening mutual trust and mutual understanding in our Union", Mikhail Myasnikovich summed up.

The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is an international union of non-governmental organizations and citizens sharing and promoting the ideas and values of the Eurasian integration, peacekeeping, strengthening friendship, harmony, partnership and good neighborliness among peoples.

The Assembly’s core objective is to form public integration model of the Greater Eurasian partnership of peoples based on spiritual and moral principles, for the sake of peace and harmony through developing multilateral cooperation and public (peoples’) diplomacy.

On February 11, 2022, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly held its annual extended meeting of the General Council. The General Council considered outcomes of the Assembly’s activities in 2021 and approved an action plan for 2022. The agenda also included a number of important organizational issues as well as signing of cooperation agreements with new partners.
