The event was held on the eve of the consultation between the Heads of the Member States’ authorized bodies to approve the draft International Treaty on establishing the Union’s common gas market scheduled for April 20.
During the negotiations, the Ministers discussed the importance of consensus searching and approving unagreed provisions in the draft Treaty.
In turn, Temirbek Asanbekov presented a number of compromise proposals for discussion.
The Ministers are counting on constructive discussion and readiness to elaborate mutually acceptable decisions on remaining main issues at the upcoming high-level meeting.
According to program documents, the International Treaty on establishing a common gas market should be signed by January 1, 2023 and come into effect by January 1, 2025. The Working Group on implementing the Action Plan for establishing the Eurasian Economic Union’s common gas market has completed the document. The next stage will include its consideration by the Union’s supreme authorities.
