EEC and Government of Jordan to intensify interaction under memorandum of cooperation

Prospects for trade and economic dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Eurasian Economic Union Member States and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan were discussed by Mikael Belluyan, Director of the EEC Integration Development Department, and Khalid Abdullah Shawabka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Russian Federation.

Mikael Belluyan confirmed that the EEC supports the earlier proposals made by the Jordanian party to intensify the work, including under the Memorandum of Cooperation.

The Director of the EEC Department initiated the first meeting of the joint working group in 2025, the agenda of which is proposed to include practical issues of intensifying trade and economic cooperation and shaping a joint action plan.

Such events could be sectoral seminars on the Eurasian economic agenda for representatives of Jordanian official circles and business community.

Khalid Abdullah Shawabka supported these proposals, adding that the Jordanian party is open for interaction and EEC initiatives and is ready to engage in them at a high level.

The meeting participants agreed to address the issues of intensifying cooperation; for this purpose it is planned to establish interaction between the EEC and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Jordan.

Mikael Belluyan invited the Jordanian Ambassador to Russia to participate in the Eurasian Economic Forum to be held in Minsk in June 2025.
