EEC and CIS to exchange experience in digitalization and information on obstacles in mutual trade
The possibility of exchanging experience in the field of digital development of society and ensuring information security as well as issues of identifying and removing obstacles in mutual trade were discussed by Gegham Vardanyan, EEC Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies, and Denis Trefilov, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, on September 2 at the Eurasian Economic Commission’s venue.

Besides, the sides considered the possibility of geographic growth of the Eurasian Economic Union’s digital projects.

The EEC Minister Gegham Vardanyan expressed readiness to joint work in the areas of the Union’s digital agenda as well as noted the importance of continuing work on the Agreement on Data Turnover and the possibility of information exchange with third countries, including the CIS States.

Denis Trefilov, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, emphasized the relevance of interaction between integration associations, the need for regular information exchange and joint work in areas of interest to both organizations in terms of forming definitions and legal basis for developing various industries.

The sides agreed on closer interaction on the exchange of relevant experience and possible cooperation on a number of issues.
