EEC and CIS improving information technologies in statistics
Daniiar Imanaliev, Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Konstantin Laikam, Chairman of the CIS Statistical Committee, at the EEC headquarters. They discussed key matters of statistics digitalization and opportunities to deepen cooperation between the two organizations in this area.

Daniiar Imanaliev shared the Commission's experience in developing a modernized statistical sub-system and creating the SDMX Eurasian registry. He has noted that the Member States' authorized authorities have access to the registry to explore its functions and potential for use.

Konstantin Laikam told about the CIS Statistical Committee's work on shaping a knowledge management system and open data developed based on the Semantic Web principles and shared the plans to integrate the global SDMX registry into modeling directories.

The meeting also considered unifying the formats of statistical information submitted by the Member States to the EEC and questionnaires of the CIS Statistical Committees in order to optimize collecting and processing data and reduce the burden for responding countries.

The two sides expressed readiness to continue their interaction on various levels of sharing experience and discussing the latest developments in applying modern information technologies.
