EEC simplified rules for filling out declarations for sets of goods subject to labeling

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has changed the Procedure for Filling Out Declarations in terms of specifying information about labeling of goods introduced by one or more countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

One of the adopted amendments makes it possible to specify identification codes for a set (group) of goods in the declaration.

"The proposed approach will make it easier for businesses to fill out a declaration form for the imported sets of goods," said Maksat Mamytkanov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the EEC.

The second adopted change concerns further unification of the rules within the Union. Despite the fact that labelling requirements can be introduced by one or more states, the rules for reflecting information will be as close as possible.

"We are progressively unifying the rules for specifying information in relation to goods subject to mandatory labeling by means of identification," Maksat Mamytkanov emphasized.

In accordance with the Agreement on Labeling of Goods by Means of Identification in the EAEU dated February 2, 2018, which entered into force on March 29, 2019, the Union can use a universal labeling of goods or a labeling system can be introduced by one or more Union states.

According to the Procedure for Filling Out Declarations for Goods approved by Decision No. 257 of the Customs Union's Commission dated May 20, 2010, in relation to goods subject to labeling, information about control (identification) marks is indicated under number 10, and information about ID codes is indicated under number 13.
