The 3rd Session of the Consultative Committee for Migration Policy

Astana will host the 3rd Session of the Consultative Committee for
Migration Policy chaired by Timur Suleymenov, Member of the Board – Minister in
charge of Economics and Financial Policy of the EEC.
The Members of the
Consultative Committee, which represent the state authorities and business
communities of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic
of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, as well as staff members of the
Eurasian Economic Commission will participate in the session.
Discussion of
the work on the Draft Pension Agreement for working people of the Eurasian
Economic Union (EAEU) is on the agenda.
The parties will
be provided with the information on monitoring of the implementation of
Articles 96-98 Section XXVI “Labour Migration” of the EAEU Treaty and the
Agreement on Cooperation in Prevention of Illegal Labour Migration from the
Third Countries, dated November 19, 2010.
Representatives of the Parties will also report on the practice of applying the
provisions of Section XXVI “Labour Migration” of the EAEU Treaty in the Member
States of the EAEU, and discuss proposals to simplify the border control at
internal boundaries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The Consultative
Committee for Migration Policy was established under the Board of the Eurasian
Economic Commission in accordance with the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic
Commission dated November 18, 2011. The main objectives are consulting representatives
of the Member States, and developing proposals for the unified legal regime
concerning employment of citizens of the Parties, as well as developing the
contractual legal framework for implementation of a common migration policy.
