8th Session of the Consultative Committee for Entrepreneurship under the EEC
Board chaired by Timur Suleymenov, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of
Economics and Financial Policy of the EEC, will be held in Minsk on April 10.
The Members of
the Consultative Committee, which represent the state authorities and business
communities of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic
of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, as well as staff members of the
Eurasian Economic Commission will take part in the session.
In the course of the session information on the major
innovations of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) provisions are
to be brought to the notice of the business community. The draft Regulations by
the Member States of the EAEU of trade in services, establishment and operation
will be introduced. Their adoption would eliminate existing and prevent the
emergence of new excess standards in domestic (national) regulation of business
activity and the emergence of barriers in this sector. In addition, the
business community will be informed about the procedure of the Regulatory
Impact Assessment (RIA) on the EEC draft decisions that may affect the business
environment.
Representatives
of the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Belarus will introduce the
measures taken to support entrepreneurship in Belarus to the participants of
the session.
In order to
create an infrastructure for the support of investment projects with
integration potential, the session will consider the need to develop
interaction mechanisms for the national development institutions of the EAEU
Member States.
At the end of
the session, it is planned to discuss issues that are relevant to doing
business in the territory of the EAEU, and may be of interest to the business
community of the Republic of Belarus and the other Member States of the Union
in the area of mutual trade, investment and foreign trade activities.

The Consultative
Committee for Entrepreneurship of the EEC is an advisory body under the EEC
Board established by the Decision of the EEC Board No.171, dated September 25,
2012.
Membership of
the Consultative Committee was approved by the Board Decision No.204, dated
October 01, 2013.
Earlier, the
sessions of the Consultative Committee were held in Moscow (in February and
April 2013), Yekaterinburg (in June 2013), Almaty (in November 2013), Brest (in
August 2014), Baikonur, Kyzylorda (in October 2014), and Kazan (in November
2014).
The main task of
the Consultative Committee is preparation of proposals, including that based on
the best international practices, on the following issues:
- development
and implementation of the harmonized policy in the fields of business and
investment activities in the Member States of the Customs Union and the Common
Economic Space;
- removal of
excessive administrative barriers to entrepreneurship;
- improvement of
business environment, including investment activity and mutual trade in
services in the territory of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space.
