International Conference "Legal Aspects of Provision of Equal Competition Environment in Commodity Markets of Various Sectors"

Page ContentNovember 13 in Vitebsk, the Eurasian Economic Commission is holding an international conference on "Legal Aspects of Provision of Equal Competition Environment in Commodity Markets of Various Sectors" as part of lawyer services for competition to provide equal environment for access to the commodity markets of the Single Economic Space. The issues of the competition policy will be discussed at the conference that provide equal competition environment and free movement of goods in the SES cross-border commodities markets, as well as the issues of government procurement. Besides, new provisions of the Model Law "On Competition" will be discussed. This law was adopted by the Heads of States of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on October 24, 2013. The law contains provisions that stipulate of domestic market protection, support of business and manufacturers, promotion of goods in the markets of other states, saving budget funds in government procurement, as well as competition analysis of the cross-border markets (such as international railroad carriages, electric power, international connection services (roaming), food products, petroleum products, phosphate raw materials, automobile trucks and spare parts), compliance with unfair competition bans, anti-competitive agreements, abuse of the dominant position, the issues of parallel import, removal of barriers in mutual trade, non-discrimination access of business entities to the SES commodities markets, harmonization and improvement of national competition laws etc. The invitees include the representatives of the SES Member-States governmental authorities, deputies of the parliaments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of scientific circles, business communities, as well as CIS member-states competition agencies.
