Officials of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (BLCC) headed by Director General Oleg Prozorov, as well as a number of BLCC member companies, visited Kazakhstan with the organizational assistance and participation of Dias Tokan, Deputy Director of the Integration Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Bakhtiyar Asautaev, Deputy Director of the EEC Domestic Markets Operation Department.
During business events in Almaty, the European entrepreneurs were informed about the day-to-day realities and development prospects of the Eurasian Economic Union, opportunities for working in the EAEU market, investment projects, as well as the investment potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Special emphasis was placed on the benefits of the Union's common market in the context of the Commission's work to remove barriers and restrictions.
There were working meetings with representatives of the Almaty Akimat, officials of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, and the Almaty Industrial Zone LLP. Round tables were held involving the BLCC and Kazakh businesses. Partners from the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce visited a number of industrial enterprises.As Dias Tokan noted, Kazakhstan has high economic potential, being one of the key “entry points” to the Union’s common market. “The companies of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber have good prospects for business development both in Kazakhstan and throughout the EAEU as a whole. It is important to maintain a dialogue between business circles and to inform entrepreneurs about new opportunities for cooperation in a timely manner,” he stressed.
The business visit to Almaty was the fourth business mission conducted by the BLCC with the EEC organizational assistance. Representatives of the Chamber and its member companies visited Yerevan in September 2023, Minsk in April 2024, and Bishkek in September 2024.
