Georgy Arzumanyan: “The mechanism for financing industrial projects in the EAEU will strengthen technological and industrial sovereignty”

Georgy Arzumanyan, Deputy Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission at the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia presented a new mechanism for financing industrial projects in the Eurasian Economic Union.

Georgy Arzumanyan spoke about the work done to provide regulatory support for the EAEU to launch a new supranational supporting instrument for joint initiatives in the real sector of the economy and informed about the primary approaches to the selecting, approving, and implementing joint cooperation projects in industrial sectors.

“The new supranational mechanism for financial support to joint cooperation projects in industrial sectors is intended to identify and implement the potential for cooperative partnership with the entrepreneurs from the EAEU countries and will make a strong contribution to strengthening technological and industrial sovereignty,” the Deputy Director emphasized.

In addition, Georgy Arzumanyan presented to the session participants a tool for non-financial support of cooperative interaction in the EAEU — the Eurasian technological platforms.

“The Eurasian technological platforms combine the scientific, technical, and innovation potentials of the Member States to stimulate the mutually beneficial innovative development of their national industrial complexes, create and implement some promising commercial technologies, high-tech and competitive products,” Georgy Arzumanyan noted.
At the conclusion, he expressed his readiness to familiarize interested participants, especially in the regions, with the details of the said mechanism and invited them to visit the Commission’s stand at INNOPROM, the international industrial exhibition to be held from July 8 to 11 in Yekaterinburg.
