Georgy Arzumanyan, Deputy Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Industrial Policy Department, spoke at a meeting of the Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade. The discussion was attended by members of the Expert Council, deputies of the State Duma, as well as representatives of the EEC and employees of foreign embassies to the Russian Federation.
"The development of industrial cooperation on the basis of leveraging the integration potential of the EAEU Member States to increase production and promote jointly manufactured products to the markets of third countries is a priority industrial policy task within the Union," said Georgy Arzumanyan. "The tools for such promotion include information and analytical support from the Commission, fostering of new production models and competence building through financial support to joint cooperation projects, as well as creation of joint industrial infrastructure in third countries: industrial zones, clusters and technoparks."
Georgy Arzumanyan elaborated on the specifics of implementing the mechanism for financing cooperation in the manufacturing industry, spoke about the conditions for participation in the new program, the list of industries for potential projects, selection criteria, and answered the questions of the discussion participants.
"The mechanism was officially launched in the summer of this year. We are already considering the first applications for financing," added Georgy Arzumanyan. "We hope that businesses of our countries will appreciate the advantages of the new tool and become part of Eurasian cooperation chains in the near future."
