Georgy Arzumanyan Spoke about Possibilities for Inter-Country Industrial Cooperation in EAEU

Georgy Arzumanyan, Deputy Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, made a thematic report within the framework of the round table Organization of Commodity Flows in the EAEU and Asian Countries at the international exhibition NON-FOOD ASIA EXPO in Almaty.

According to Georgy Arzumanyan, today the main tasks for achieving the goals of manufacturing industry development in the Eurasian Economic Union are the formation of a common space for cooperation and collaboration, as well as providing the EAEU common market with key goods and resources. The implementation of these tasks will contribute to developing the mechanisms to support cooperation projects, joining the efforts by the Member States to localize production in priority areas, and developing exports of goods to third-country markets.

In order to achieve the set goals, it becomes crucially important to leverage the potential of the Union," noted Georgy Arzumanyan. "Here, great importance is attached to the work of financial institutions as a basic element of support for joint production and the Commission's activities in terms of developing new conditions and mechanisms to promote cooperation in the EAEU."

In particular, he described the new mechanism for financing industrial cooperation developed by the Commission jointly with the Member States and launched in June this year.

"This is the first supranational instrument of financial support for the real sector in the Union," emphasized the EEC representative. "The mechanism offers entrepreneurs unprecedented conditions: compensation amounting to 100% of the key rate set by the central bank of the Member State. Another important business benefit is the possibility for SMEs to access new technologies."

The new financing instrument aroused great interest among the exhibitors. The detailed discussion of its implementation continued during the bilateral meetings between Georgy Arzumanyan and representatives of Kazakhstan businesses. Additionally, they discussed measures to support exports of jointly manufactured products, barriers to public procurement access, and customs issues.

Georgy Arzumanyan also participated in the strategic session on business promotion and investment.
