Gohar Barseghyan and Denis Manturov discussed priority areas for industry development in EAEU states

Promising areas of cooperation in the industrial sphere of the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed by Gohar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. 

In particular, the meeting considered issues of implementing cooperation projects using the supranational financial support mechanism, establishing a unified digital platform in industry, and implementing interstate programs. Holding the EAEU Industrial Policy Council was discussed, too.

“Together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, we are ready for further work in all areas, as we share common interests in strengthening our mutual cooperation,” noted Gohar Barseghyan.

The parties agreed to continue working together on new mutually beneficial initiatives. Denis Manturov invited Gohar Barseghyan to jointly speak at the plenary session of the INNOPROM. Central Asia international industrial exhibition, which will be held in April this year in Tashkent.

In 2023, the EAEU industry was on the upward trend. In the Union as a whole, industrial output increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year. The growth rate of the manufacturing industry is especially high — by 7.4%.
