During a meeting of the EAEU Council on Industrial Policy held on the sidelines of INNOPROM, the attendees discussed industrial cooperation within the EAEU, including the implementation of financial support mechanisms for joint projects, as well as promising areas for interaction between the Union Member States in high-tech industrial sectors.
Particular attention was paid to expanding industrial cooperation and improving the efficiency of joint investment projects across the Eurasian space.
“The EAEU States face the task not only of maintaining the current level of industrial interaction, but also of ensuring a transition to a new stage of cooperation based on technological sovereignty, innovations, and the joint implementation of strategic projects. I am confident that further deepening industrial integration, expanding cooperation chains, and consolidating our States' efforts will be key factors in improving the competitiveness of the EAEU economy on a global scale,” mentioned Gohar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission, emphasizing that deepening industrial cooperation remains one of the key factors in strengthening the EAEU Member States' economic potential.
During the “Dialogue Without Protocol” business breakfast, attended by Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and leaders of industry associations and companies, the EEC Minister presented the EAEU financial support mechanism for industrial cooperation, implemented through interest rate subsidies on loans for joint cooperative projects.
“This tool opens up new possibilities for developing industrial cooperation between the EAEU Member States and contributes to establishing sustainable production chains, promoting the implementation of joint high-tech projects across the Eurasian region,” noted Gohar Barseghyan, adding that similar support measures are currently being extended to the agro-industrial sector as well.
