On April 22 in Tashkent, Goar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took part in the main plenary session of the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia", as well as got acquainted with the exposition of innovative samples in the manufacturing industry of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Goar Barseghyan made a report at the panel session "The EAEU: new tools to promote industrial cooperation" organized by the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Union's Business Council. The Minister has noted that the event dedicated to new tools for implementing industrial policy and deepening industrial cooperation in the EAEU is held under the auspices of the Commission at the INNOPROM International Industrial Forum in Tashkent.
"The technological development of industrial complexes and improving the competitiveness of the Union countries' national economies remain one of the primary objectives of our integration agenda. This can be achieved through creating favorable conditions and mechanisms to support the production of modern industrial products, combining the experience and potential of our countries", Goar Barseghyan noted.
The Minister informed on positive trends in the EAEU industrial production in 2023, the indicators of which increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year. According to her, such growth was registered in all the Union Member States. The manufacturing industry was also characterized by a production ramp-up – by 7.4%.
"Since the start of the Eurasian Economic Union functioning in 2015, mutual deliveries in the EAEU countries have increased by 2.3 times. But we stay strong in the pursuit of our goals and believe it necessary to expand new approaches to achieve our ambitious goals," the Minister emphasized.
Goar Barseghyan noted that the cooperation support tools already created within the Union will contribute to deepening integration cooperation within the EAEU and with Observer countries, following the example of the Eurasian Technology Platforms.
"Nowadays we work on a new format of the Eurasian Technology Platforms. In this regard, we have planned a grand event involving the Member States at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Union in June this year," she said.According to the Minister, technology platforms should become an efficient system tool in scientific, technological and innovation cooperation with a focus on technology transfer.
"Our Colleagues from Uzbekistan take much interest in participating in the "Civil Aircraft Engineering" technology platform, and we see prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation here as well," Goar Barseghyan said.
