Outcomes of EEC Council on January 21

On January 21, this year’s first meeting of the EEC Council was held under the chairmanship of Arzybek Orozbekovich Kozhoshev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. It bears reminding that Kyrgyzstan presides over the EAEU governing bodies in 2022.

Besides, the EEC Council’s meeting was first attended from the Republic of Kazakhstan by Bakhyt Sultanov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration. He will represent his country in the Commission’s Council.

The Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council adopted some decisions required for starting the Agreement on the mechanism of traceability of goods imported into the EAEU customs territory enacted in February 2021.

The EEC Council approved the Rules for regulating the circulation of veterinary medicines in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The EEC Council's decision amended the Regulation on the common procedure for veterinary control (supervision) at the EAEU customs border and territory.

The decision was adopted to exempt titanium oxides being imported into the territory of the Republic of Belarus for manufacturing chemical fibers and yarns, in the amount not exceeding 360 tons annually, from import customs duty until December 31, 2023. The tariff exemption will be applied when confirming the intended purpose of imported goods.

The Commission was instructed to submit the issue of implementing the Agreement on using navigation seals for monitoring traffic in the Eurasian Economic Union for consideration by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The Commission continues to work hard in this direction.

The EEC Council endorsed the initiative submitted by the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Industry and Agriculture Unit which establishes the legal basis for the possibility of presenting the EAEU States' best goods determined, inter alia, following national quality competitions held as part of the Eurasian Economic Forums’ exhibitions.

The Eurasian Economic Forum will be held at the suggestion of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Forum is held in the State presiding over the EAEU governing bodies. The event will be dedicated to the next face-to-face meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council scheduled for May 27, 2022 in Bishkek.

The event's objectives are to further develop economic cooperation between the Member States, to form cooperative ties between economic entities, to achieve a synergistic effect from unifying investment and innovation potentials of the Member States and to unleash their export potential.

The agenda of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council’s meeting scheduled to be held on February 24-25 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan in a face-to-face format was approved.

The next meeting of the EEC Council will take place on February 18.
