Arzybek Kozhoshev, the EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure, presented the EEC Board with recommendations aimed at simplifying procedures affecting the movement of passengers by rail within the EAEU who are citizens of the Five countries, as well as developing Eurasian tourist routes using the Union's rail transport.

The document was prepared as part of the roadmap for implementing the Main Directions of Transport Policy for 2024-2026 and is aimed at developing passenger transportation in international rail traffic, improving the level of passenger service, and integrating rail transport into the tourism industry in the EAEU countries.

The recommendations cover promising areas for improving the mass service system for passengers using rail transport that provides affordable mobility, including the transportation process itself, the quality of rolling stock, terminal (station) services, electronic ticketing, the connection of train schedules with other transport modes, as well as proposals for the development of Eurasian tourist routes using rail transport.

In the future, these recommendations will facilitate the accelerated development of rail passenger transportation, including through the introduction of digital technologies in passenger services, improved legal regulation, and the coordination of Member States' policies regarding the development of passenger rail travel.
