The Commission proposes new mechanisms for the development of industrial cooperation

The transformation of foreign trade relations, sanctions restrictions on certain EAEU countries, a significant share of high-tech imports create both new challenges and new opportunities for the Eurasian region, especially in the industrial sphere. This was stated by Nikolay Rogozhnik, Deputy Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, at the plenary session of the 10th Eurasian Economic Perspective International Forum.

The main theme of this year's Forum is the development of Eurasian integration in the new economic reality.

"The potential of using the internal market of the EAEU is very high and the countries have great opportunities to increase mutual trade. The creation of new industrial ties plays an important role in this respect. The Commission pays considerable attention to the development of industrial cooperation. Instruments of sectoral cooperation are being actively implemented, the EAEU industrialization map is in effect," Nikolay Rogozhnik said. "Relevant work is being carried out in terms of the possibility of developing approaches to the unification of requirements for industrial goods and mechanisms for financing industrial cooperation."

Nikolay Rogozhnik spoke about the practical results of the joint work of the EEC and its Member States, including specific examples of creating cooperative projects in the EAEU as in the case of agricultural engineering.

On December 2, within the framework of the panel session, Nikolai Rogozhnik will discuss with the Forum participants the development of regional production chains in Eurasia and the prospects for industrial cooperation, technology transfer and non-resource exports, and will also give a lecture to students and teachers of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia on the activities of the Commission for the Development of Industrial Cooperation of the EAEU states.
