Water treatment equipment manufacturer complied with EEC warning

The Eurasian Economic Commission was informed of this fact by Aquaphor Trading Limited Liability Company (Russian Federation) in accordance with the warning implementation procedure, one of the soft law tools in the EAEU antitrust regulation, intended to eliminate signs of competition rule violations in the EAEU transboundary markets. Since last July, the EEC has been considering the materials provided by the Ministry of Antitrust Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus on possible signs of unfair competition in the actions of Aquaphor Trading LLC when selling water treatment equipment. The company used product identifications confusingly similar to the Kristall-B trademark owned by Polymerkonstruktsiya, UP (Republic of Belarus).

Based on the material study results, the Department of Antitrust Regulation of the Commission prepared and issued a warning to the Russian company about the need to stop anti-competitive behavior

.Aquaphor Trading LLC notified the Commission it had stopped introducing into civil circulation within the EAEU countries the water treatment equipment with applied product identifications, being confusingly similar to the trademark owned by Polymerkonstruktsiya, UP. Aquaphor Trading LLC assured that it was no longer using the trademark or word designations that consumers could graphically or visually identify as goods manufactured by the Belarusian company.
