Leaders of EAEU countries agreed medium-term approaches to promoting trade with main partners

At the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg, Heads of State of the Eurasian Economic Union approved the program document that outlines the objectives and directions of the EAEU foreign trade policy until 2030. The approaches include cooperation principles and instruments and country priorities.
"Given the current fast-changing trade and policy landscape, the Union pays great attention to development, diversification and improving the quality of trade and economic cooperation with the partner countries. In particular, this is evident in the number of trade deals struck in the outgoing year. We will continue to pursue our active trade policy in the medium term," Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, pointed out.The document builds on the objective set earlier by the leaders of the EAEU countries regarding the Union's functioning as a pole of economic attraction in the international arena. This objective is enshrined in the Eurasian Economic Path Declaration.
