A wide range of issues on developing competition in the Eurasian Economic Union countries were discussed by Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Aibek Mamyraliev, Chairman of the Antitrust Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, at a meeting in Bishkek.

Particular attention during the negotiations was paid to law enforcement issues, including those related to the amended provisions of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Competition, with regard to their compliance with the Treaty on the EAEU. The two sides discussed issues of state price regulation for certain goods, creating conditions necessary for establishing fair rates for cellular communication services in international roaming within the EAEU States, and conducting a proactive assessment of the state of competition in certain commodity markets.

They stressed the importance of further improving cooperation mechanisms in these areas.

The meeting resulted in agreeing the key directions of further joint work and possible formats for addressing antitrust regulation difficulties.
