Maksim Yermalovich held bilateral meetings in Bishkek on EAEU competition and public procurement

Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, paid a working visit to Bishkek, where he held a series of bilateral meetings with top officials of the Kyrgyz Republic's public authorities.

In particular, negotiations were held with Almaz Baketaev, Minister of Finance; Nuria Kutnaeva, Minister of Digital Development; Gulshat Asylbaeva, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce; Ulugbek Kalenderov, Deputy Minister of Finance; Zhenaly Orozbaev, Chairman of the Antitrust Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce; Bek Abdyrakhmanov, Director of the State Procurement Department under the Ministry of Finance.

They discussed public procurement in the Eurasian Economic Union, including the results of monitoring the legislation of the Member States for compliance with the EAEU law, the progress in implementation of the action plan on mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures for public procurement, as well as the issues of statistical reporting and improvement of the Union's law in this area.

The parties reviewed the implementation of the Action Plan on enabling the establishment of fair tariffs for cellular communication services in international roaming across the territories of the EAEU Member States.

The meetings also touched upon the issue of proactive assessment of the state of competition and sectoral studies in the Union's commodity markets in 2025, including within the framework of the introduced anti-dumping measures.

Special attention was paid to the Commission's competition advocacy initiative to hold an educational program Competition Law in the EAEU: International and Regional Approaches and a conference Topical Issues of Research and Regulation of Digital Markets in the EAEU.

Emphasis was placed on holding public consultation offices of the EEC Competition and Antitrust Regulation Unit for direct dialogue with the business of the Kyrgyz Republic on supporting competition, public procurement and other issues related to the functioning of the EAEU cross-border markets.
