On October 8 in Astana, Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, discussed topical issues in the field of competition with Bolat Sambetov, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The two sides paid special attention to the issues of improving Kazakhstan's legislation regarding enforcement proceedings and the status of bailiffs. The discussion also covered some law enforcement matters including those related to reasoned submissions and compulsory enforcement of the Commission's decisions taken against violators of general competition rules. Moreover, the meeting reviewed the latest amendments to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union in terms of challenging the Commission's decisions and actions in the field of competition to the EAEU Court.
Furthermore, the two sides discussed the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the heads of the Union countries' authorized authorities and Maksim Yermalovich in the 5+1 format scheduled in Brest for October 2025."The meeting resulted in agreeing the key directions of further joint work and possible formats for addressing antitrust regulation difficulties," Maksim Yermalovich pointed out.
