Maksim Yermalovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council.
The two parties discussed a number of issues related to the current state and development of competition and public procurement within the Eurasian Economic Union, including the improvement of competition law.
Special attention was given to the prospects of exchange trading within the EAEU, increasing mutual supplies of goods under public procurement, and access to the Union countries' markets for goods originating from the EAEU Member States for public procurement purposes.
They compared notes on preparing and organizing the events of the EEC Competition and Antitrust Regulation Unit, scheduled to be held as part of the upcoming 5th Eurasian Economic Forum.
Following the meeting, the two parties outlined the priorities for further joint work, including the exchange of experience and best practices.
