At SPIEF opening, Mikhail Myasnikovich urged to speed up EAEU states' industrial development

Such a statement was made by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, at the grand opening of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

 "We see the world economy fragmentation, and globalization will not recover. In this regard, we believe that we must use only our own resources," Mikhail Myasnikovich believes, "It is necessary to speed up the EAEU Member States' industrial development, we have every opportunity for this."

According to him, in the current conditions, investments in fixed capital should play an important role in the self-sufficient development of the EAEU countries' economies. "Moreover, we already have a certain result. Thus, investments in fixed capital grew by 11% in the first quarter of this year alone, while Russia added 13%," he stressed.

"The EAEU has sources, intellectual potential, production base, capacities that should be used to ensure competitiveness in the changed economic conditions," the head of the EEC Board stated.

The discussion was also attended by Andrey Belousov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Felix Malua, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Central African Republic, and Milorad Dodik, Serbian Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event was moderated by TV journalist Irada Zeynalova.
