Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, called on prompt development and further implementation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership (GEP) Strategy at the session "ASEAN – EAEU – SCO: Integration Segment of the Greater Eurasian Partnership" of SPIEF-2022. He noted the high importance of implementing Russian President Vladimir Putin's idea to create the GEP.
Earlier, on May 26 this year, at the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin said: "It is time to draft a comprehensive strategy for developing the Greater Eurasian Partnership that must reflect the key international challenges facing us, determine future goals and contain instruments and mechanisms for achieving them. The Greater Eurasian Partnership is designed to change the political and economic architecture and guarantee stability and prosperity on the entire continent – naturally, taking account of the diverse development models, cultures and traditions of all peoples."
Mikhail Myasnikovich focused on establishing a seamless system of interaction in Greater Eurasia – the formation of the legal framework for the Greater Eurasian Partnership. "The Eurasian Economic Commission is ready for a comprehensive elaboration of this strategy," Mikhail Myasnikovich emphasized.
The Head of the EEC Board noted that the Commission had referred to the development of promising trans-Eurasian corridors – projects uniting that space into a single whole – as its priority task. For these purposes, in 2021, the EEC Board approved the list of Eurasian transport corridors and routes.
Simultaneously, a digital ecosystem of transport corridors is being built. It should become the basis for a transnational digital solution providing digitally more than 100 different services related to the implementation of transport operations within the Union, as well as ensure the possibility of integration with similar third countries' digital ecosystems.
According to the Chairman of the EEC Board, special attention should be focused on monetary and financial cooperation, which can become a practical basis for fulfilling the potential of the Greater Eurasian Partnership. "It is necessary to strengthen cooperation with China, the BRICS and SCO countries to integrate payment and settlement infrastructure, including the issuance of a common BRICS payment card, the creation of the EAEU countries' payment systems, and much more," he added.
The discussion was attended by Zhang Ming, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Alexander Pankin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Denis Trefilov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Kairat Sarybay, Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, Vladimir Mau, Rector of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (RANEPA), Rashid Alimov, Professor of the Taihe Institute, SCO Secretary General in 2016–2018. The session was moderated by Director of the Institute of Asian and African countries of FSBEI of HE M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Alexey Maslov.

Aside from the EAEU countries, the GEP includes the states of the CIS, SCO, and ASEAN, and such largest economies of Eurasia as China, India, and other countries.
