Mikhail Myasnikovich: "Sanctions are a sign of weakness"

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Board, Members of the Board — Ministers and Directors of the EEC Departments took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden in Moscow on May 11 on the occasion of the 77th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

"Laying wreaths at the tombs of soldiers who laid down their lives for our common victory in honor of the Great Victory has already become a good tradition with us in the EEC in May", Mikhail Myasnikovich noted after the ceremony. "This is a tribute to memory showing the Union’s national cohesion and the spirit of unity, which is especially important now when we work towards economic cohesion".

According to the Chairman of the EEC Board, this work under sanctions brings excellent results. Over the last year, the EAEU countries’ mutual trade has grown by one third, mutual cooperation increases as well.

"This is to say that we have something to trade and we can provide ourselves with both agricultural and industrial products", Mikhail Myasnikovich said. “And our unity has become even more obvious in implementing new innovative projects; efforts were intensified in the scientific and technical sphere. And therefore those who tried to influence us through sanctions will achieve nothing".
Sanctions are a sign of weakness of those States that are unable to compete with Russia and Belarus and try to use prohibited methods contradicting the UN regulatory provisions and civilized cooperation standards, the Chairman of the EEC Board noted.
